| Ongoing,
vociferous demands to give peace a
chance at all costs serves to embolden
potential enemies. Nations going the
extra distance to pursue peace embolden
belligerents who look for weaknesses.
Belligerents are advised that the
pursuers of peace will do everything
possible to avoid war and that their
implied guiding policy ensures
minimization of self-defense mechanisms
and preparedness. |
| Belligerents
expect little to no retaliation from
peace-pursuing nations. Demagogues, dictators, and
fanatics who are looking for weaknesses
so they may attack with impunity see the
whiny, peacenik nation as vulnerable.
Belligerents believe retaliation will be
minimal. They are therefore empowered
toward bullying, blackmail, and
belligerence. They grow inclined to
attack the peace-loving, passive nation. |
| The
9/11 perpetrators surely never expected
the potent response they experienced
upon their homeland caves within weeks
following 9/11. |
| North
Korea understands that it benefited by
successfully bullying and blackmailing
the US in 1994. Iran sees in its
fanatically distorted, hegemonic view,
that Western civilization is divided and
weakened. Both of these nations, being
led by frustrated fanatics are
emboldened to taunt the West using
missile tests and nuclear technology
threats. |
| These
demented destroyers of peace certainly
will never change direction. Their only path is clear
to them and should be clear to all
rational observers. |
