Waging War Against Terrorism: The Next Phase

The Next Phase:

Identify, Plan, Position, Implement, Ensure

Actual strategy, tactics, techniques & procedures will not be second-guessed due to concerns for our fighting forces and our cause. The media should understand this.

Identify The Next Phase --- But First Identify Your Enemy

Do you think you know your enemy? Do you understand his motivations? What are his goals? Where do you fit in his long-term objectives?

If you are reading this it is very probable that your terrorist enemies' beliefs, plans and objectives are antithetical to all that you believe in, work everyday to achieve, desire for yourself, your friends and your family.

Consider what the Taliban and Muslim extremists demonstrate and tell us about themselves:

1.) Women: This half of the population is not permitted to dress, earn an education, work, or socialize in ways commensurate with their abilities and personal goals;

2.) Technology: This aspect is limited to its implementation in weaponry. They have demonstrated interest in biological, chemical and nuclear technology as it is implemented for the specific purpose of causing pain, destruction and killing their enemies. The more mundane weapons that utilize conventional explosives are implemented in asymmetric methodologies, as well as standard devices to pour out destruction and death upon anyone of any age of either gender, of any nationality, of any religion including the Muslim faith who appear to be in the terrorists' pathway.

In the midst of today's technologically oriented societies, cultures that exist in primitive conditions (e.g., caves, tents, huts, etc.) and limit their use of technology to destruction-inflicting forms, demonstrate they have no desire to develop and join civilized society. This describes today's enemy.

3.) History and Culture: Our enemy's objective is to forcefully return all people who remain after it conquers and brings the weakened surviving civilized people everywhere to the the founding period of the Muslim religion, 740 A.D. It will then overlay its beliefs upon subordinates and take control of all activities and life styles. To it, true history is only the story of Muslim beliefs and activities. Valid culture is only that of Muslim beliefs and activities. All other past and culture must be cleansed from the earth. In recent years we saw a segment of this enemy destroy embassies, ships, planes, office buildings and any people who happened to be in the vicinities. At the end of 2000, the civilized world, including several Christian and Muslim nations and cultural institutions attempted to prevent one segment of our enemy, the Taliban, from destroying historic religious and cultural Buddhist statues that existed on their territory. The Taliban implemented its power of eminent domain to destroy what others valued. Civilization, religion, culture and most importantly, reasoned, rational behavior failed to save the Buddhist statues.

4.) Civilized behavior: Respect for other people, living with positive personal interactions, honoring basic rights of all humans to liberty, peace and progress are not within the substance of our enemy. Whipping to control individuals' behaviors and actions, stilling of music, prevention of creative thinking and education, living in caves, bullying those into submission of all types are aspects of our enemy's methodology.

5.) Societal structure: This enemy values a structure wherein he is in charge of all daily routines. Our enemy will determine, mandate, and enforce all specific behavior of all others in society.

6.) Enemies: Our enemy's psychology dictates that anyone who disagrees with him does not have the right to exist. Our enemy is a classic bully who uses any force to inflict pain in order to subjugate.

Our enemy is clearly identified. This enemy has chosen to make civilization its enemy. It is now our task to determine how to combat it in order to save Western Civilization and other non-destructive civilizations from being destroyed.

Position For The Next Phase --- Targeting

What degrees of damage are appropriate to inflict upon this terrorist enemy? What magnitude of destruction and death is necessary to meter upon this enemy to insure preservation of Western Civilization?

In the midst of today's technologically oriented societies, cultures that exist in primitive conditions (e.g., caves, tents, huts, etc.) and limit their use of technology to destruction-inflicting forms, have no desire to develop and join civilized society. This describes today's enemy.

This enemy must be ferreted out and destroyed wherever it can be found or we will pay in lost progress, distraction from future progress, lost lives and we will never experience true peace.

The terrorists escalated single fanatical attacks upon embassies, ships and airplanes into full-scale war when they asymmetrically attacked on September 11. Civilization has joined the war. Now only two sides exist. The War Against Terrorism is between civilized peoples and terrorists everywhere. Any nation where terrorists hide, are given refuge, are supported and permitted to train and launch attacks from are valid targets. These nations are at minimum implicitly on the terrorist side in the War Against Terrorism.

The objective of the next phase must be to limit civilization's future vulnerability. Today there is little incentive for terrorists to stop killing. The attacks of September 11 verified that terrorists can crawl out of caves and send inept fanatics out to use the civilized world's everyday technology to damage innocent civilized people and terrify bystanders.

Targeting anything other than major terrorist enclaves sends a message that the civilized world is plodding through the war and terrorists can continue to run and hide to avoid their destruction. The next phase must focus on a major established terrorist enclave for two reasons:

1.) Eliminate a serious base of future terrorism;

2.) Announce to all terrorists hiding and training in caves, camps, and behind religious cloaks that they will no longer find any reward in terrorism.

Implementation

The next target of the War Against Terrorism should be the Philippines.

This is logical. This is appropriate for stated war objectives and for the Filipino people. The people of this island nation have over decades:

1.) Demonstrated an ability to live civilized life styles;

2.) Built a substantial economy that produces products exported and desired globally;

3.) Worked industriously;

4.) Supported a democratic governmental structure;

5.) Lived productive and peaceful lives.

The people of the Philippines deserve, and the majority have demonstrated their desire, to live free and be productive. That objective is one of the goals of the War Against Terrorism.

The Philippines will not require tens of billions of dollars in so-called re-building efforts if terrorism is arrested soon. Other so-called nations have never attained the high level of civilized behavior, economy, culture, and peacefulness that the Filipino people have struggled and died for as recently as World War II.

These people are worthy of assistance from the civilized world. It should be the next major front in the civilized world's War Against Terrorism.
