Technology... Political Objectives... Economic Goals... Ethnic Dynamics... Tactics... and Strategies... change --- therefore the mode of war changes over time. World War I was the transition from large scale infantry forces to mechanization of mobilized large scale forces. That is why it was stalemated for years while both sides began to understand the new model of war. The Gulf War was the model's transition from massive mechanized mobile forces to small scale forces controlling mobilized automated weaponry. Today's model requires asymmetric analysis and foresight integrated into ongoing massive traditional intelligence, used in conjunction with complex technologies carried to multiple fronts by small scale forces without regard for national boundaries. The post-September 11 world contains a model for a version of World War III: The civilized versus the uncivilized. The uncivilized are represented by today's barbaric terrorist forces who believe they have nothing to lose and death will take them where they want to go. Terrorism must be stopped before it becomes empowered and escalates this confrontation into WWIII.

On Retaliation One measure of our civilization's civility is that its retaliation is actually self-defense of the future. The civilized world's retaliatory self-defensive actions will be precise and aimed accurately at the real perpetrators. There will be no rush to quickly lob a hand-full of rockets at the first plausible target. Instead, civilization will identify the perpetrators, track them down, and impose justice upon them. It is safer to understand our enemy before he pulls and aims his gun at us than to be caught looking down the barrel of his already drawn gun. This evil enemy has drawn and fired his guns at civilization for years. It is time for civilization to defend itself. To fail to defend civilization is not rational and it is itself uncivilized. |

As Is Just & Right... God, as envisioned by all civilized people, is good. Mankind, having been created by God, is obligated to exist with overall good intent and purpose. Our mistakes may be attributed to our 'just being human' and therefore we are eligible for forgiveness by God and our neighbors after reasonable transgressions. But what is to be done when people for any reason whatsoever freely choose to destroy, damage and inflict massively intense pain upon their fellow men? Does God intend to punish these perpetrators someday somehow? Will they awaken to the error of their ways and feel distraught at having sinned? We do not know the answers to these questions, but we, The Civilized, know without any doubt that we must go on about our civilized lives not injuring or inflicting pain upon others. By Nature and by God we must go on about our civilized lives because to be civilized is to want to work for progress. But there are times when the evil force of total evil disrupts and attempts to destroy the civilized majority. At these times civilized mankind has the right to enforce God's Law of Good. We have the right --- and the ordained obligation to our creator, ourselves and our next generations --- to defend ourselves and put an end to that most specious, insidious, despicable evil force that has proven by its own free actions to be destructive, unworthy and having specious values. A new Age arrived September 11, 2001. It may be termed asymmetric warfare, terrorism, or given other labels but all of these terms are contemporaneously superfluous and falsely aggrandize the evil force that stalks Earth. These labels and their attendant studies provide for intellectual methodologies and procedures of handling and defending civilization in the future. The only relevant immediate question is, "How does a civilization contain a force so horrific in substance that it resorted to means beyond a civilized world's abilities to have anticipated?" The geographic aspect was The United States of America, but the victims include every civilized individual and nation. The time has come to declare war upon the uncivilized perpetrators of destruction. Our War For Defense of Our Future must proceed rationally, forcefully enough to destroy, and united as one to demonstrate to future evil forces that such out-of-bounds, asymmetric destruction will not ever be tolerated and should not be attempted. In order to preserve and continue living in freedom, civilized people have the right and the obligation to attack and destroy that uncivilized enemy known to have committed the horrors of September 11, 2001. It is right for a Declaration of War by the United States of America and by all civilized individuals and civilized nations specifically stating that when perpetrators are identified they will be pursued and brought to justice. Just as the perpetrators of horrors crossed national boundaries to inflict, so will retaliation against them. Justice cannot allow perpetrators of such horrors to cower behind boundaries which they themselves have not honored and freely crossed when they come out to destroy civilized people. National sovereignties will be respected for all civil reasons but will not be a limit to the pursuit of justice when striking the evil forces of unbounded, unimaginable destruction.

About Our Society All citizens of the United States of America must now realize that for any of us to make progress and survive as a healthy nation, all of us must work together. In-fighting and the multiplicity of cultural and quasi-cause-oriented, self-serving civil wars will only hinder overall growth, stability and freedom.

Is a quest for global peace a plausible, potentially realistic end? Today's world is peppered with factions, rogues and quasi-ministates controlled by fanatics possessing technology, weaponry and suicide soldiers. Can civilized societies realistically expect global peace in this environment? Religious fanatics, militaristic fascists, unaligned despotic zealots with simplistic focuses aimed at destruction of other societies such as the Jewish state and its people now exist and are fully empowered with resources and willing followers. In a past age civilized nations would have felt far removed and, therefore, not vulnerable to these quasi-states held in check by geography. ...And these quasi-states would have been content to inflict their fanatic dogmas upon their relatively small spheres of helpless and undefended local people. As we learned on September 11, 2001, these entities have infiltrated the global civilized society. They have ventured out of their caverns to perpetrate a simplistic unilateral purpose aimed at raising themselves up by bringing the civilized world down. They demonstrate their true abilities boldly and openly when they choose to use their resources to bring others down. If they had imagination, hope, and could apply intellect, they would understand that a better approach would be to ally with civilized and successful people thereby learning how to develop their own civilized and successful societies. Are they capable? Is it simply bad leadership? One asks if achieving global peace may mean holding in check the numbers and spheres of influence of our enemies.

Educated, like ya know? Now our civilization will suffer in the aftermath of the breakdown of the educational system: Social promotions, placements and advancement of less than the most worthy, disregard for that most important profession -- teaching -- and abdication by universities of their obligation to be genuine universities in the classical sense. Today we need educated individuals to innovate and perform beyond the highest standards in technology, business and all civilized endeavors. What might we expect from hoards of young people who dress sloppily and carelessly, do not have enough self-respect to maintain their physical appearance, and apparently do not care how their actions affect others, and are degreed but uneducated? How can we expect today's university system to produce analytic, thinking, wise, knowledgeable graduates after a quarter century of training an army of politically correct soldiers whose focus is on social and cultural civil wars and whose education was overly involved with gender studies, Black studies, inappropriate applications of human rights, and misinterpretation of individual rights concepts? It is time to arrest the superfluous PC --- Petty Concerns --- and work together as one nation toward positive objectives... and provide quality public education for all.

Should I fly the flag? The United States of America is the most successful, the greatest, the grandest social, political, economic experiment in mankind's history. Be proud to be a positive and productive working part of The United States of America. We live here comfortably with no real problems -- except those we create for others around us. Now our petty concerns are disrupted by outside forces that want us dead. They have created a very real danger for all of us. We should wonder how many of us will be wise enough to refocus our petty concerns away from the daily attempts to damage those around us and realize that we are all in danger. We all have great lives and we need to defeat those who have attacked us. And then we need to get on with our own lives, be productive and stop the daily attempts to inflict pain upon others over trivial and petty concerns.

Why, How & What Was Accomplished Why: Osama bin Laden developed an obsessed mind that was not satisfied to use his too-easily-attained-wealth to achieve greatness by working as part of a constructively-oriented team. Instead, he needed to direct his wealth that was originally derived through construction of buildings and mosques to destroy what others have built. Destruction, not construction, is productive to bin Laden. How: He was fortunate to find a band of wandering, aimless, uneducated men with potential but needing direction. Bin Laden gave them the means to serve him while making them believe they were serving their God. He sat in his cave obsessing over his goal to gain through destruction. He turned to the only true power his potential followers knew: Islam. He took Islam hostage, dissected it, discarded parts that would not serve his destructive needs and perverted what remained to serve, encapsulate and provide a facade for his goals of destruction. His potential followers, in desperate need of a leader, lacking education, having no hope or understanding of how to ally with Muslims or other successful cultures in the East or the West, yet having the wherewithal to want be successful, abdicated their existences and chose the only course available: bin Laden. He made his followers dependent upon him as he played sage. These binladenites followed his brand of religion -- known to civilized people as terrorism. This was the only pseudo-productive path defined by bin Laden and his followers accepted him as the means to obtain early release to the promised land. Bin Laden, in his inverted psychological need to de-construct, that is, destroy, rather than to construct as his family had done to earn its fortune, became obsessed with the grandest example of successful capitalism and freedom, the United States of America. He focused upon one of the obvious symbols of Western success, the World Trade Centers located in the financial center of the world. His course was so clear that he had no choice and became obsessed with its destruction. He must de-construct the United States in order to raise himself on his inverted relative achievement scale. He joined his emaciated version of Islam with his need to destroy and merged this product with his obsession of destroying the World Trade Centers. What Was Accomplished: His followers hijacked four airplanes. Reports indicate they had plans to include additional strikes using various means that failed due to the efficient and rapid reactions of authorities. The few successful hijackers executed their tasks from pitifully unprotected airports within an hour of each other. They turned three of the four airplanes into missiles of destruction but were unsuccessful with the fourth. In fact, they were defeated on that fourth airplane by a band of civilians so deeply civilized that they instinctively sacrificed themselves to save unknown other civilized people. The massive destruction the binladenites achieved was accomplished by the technology that went into the airplanes and extremely powerful jet fuel --- not anything designed or built by bin Laden or his followers. For this they took years to train, plan and rehearse. The stayed in cheap motels, worked menial jobs and lived low-key lives spending relatively little money. The world has witnessed terrorist bullies hijack planes for years but never before has the task been so simplified, invalidly aggrandized and wrongly characterized as a great and complex accomplishment. It is not. In fact, these hijackings were less complex because the hijackers were not required to obtain a tangible ransom, negotiate for something or implement an escape plan. Those aspects were removed by the simple acts of suicide. The terrorists did accomplish massive destruction and loss of life. They accomplished this using a deceptively simple and relatively inexpensive plan implemented by relatively few individuals. These terrorists are dangerous for their willingness to use violence that civilized people have had difficulty identifying early because it is not our arsenal. They are to be feared for their willing use of asymmetric methods --- not their intellect or cunning. Our enemies are not clever or wise enough to have foreseen the violent reactions they engendered in all civilized people. Our reactions will be controlled, precise, total and implemented on multiple fronts over time. Importantly, the terrorists failed to accomplish their main goals of destroying the United States, capitalism, freedom, and imposing fear upon the free world. Bin Laden failed to effectively use his followers to advance his cause. Free civilized people everywhere are today more aligned, cohesive and prepared to destroy the uncivilized than before September 11, 2001.

Understand The Enemy: His Surprise & Retaliation Modes Vigilant efforts to understand our enemy's attack modes will enhance our predictions of his timing and types of targets. The evil and weak character of this uncivilized enemy mandates that it often use these attack modes: 1.) Surprise Attack Mode: This uncivilized enemy destroys and pushes us off balance through surprise attacks. He re-ignites war on his schedule when he sees vulnerabilities and relaxed guards. He adds impact to physical destruction of buildings by killing and severely injuring innocent bystanders as well as military personnel. 2.) Retaliatory Attack Mode: This uncivilized enemy distorts its purpose by attacking us following our self-defensive actions upon him. By insidiously attacking us when we defend ourselves for a previous attack, it portrays itself as the victim. This specious mode attempts role reversal. Through constant vigilance we can gain limited predictive abilities. ...And we must frequently restate our purpose with specific identification of our true enemy to ensure that our allies understand events. |
