Action & Reaction October 7: Allies initiate self-defense actions. October 10: Allies have gained air supremacy and control of the air as expected. Danger exists in over-confidence since the enemy has unknown stockpiles of stinger and other surface-to-air weaponry. October 12: The Taliban is doing all it could be expected to do, including: 1.) Stopping Red Cross and United Nations' humanitarian food and medical supply convoys for civilians and demanding a 'road tax' just as their ancestors did 3,000 years ago; 2.) Demanding that no one in Afghanistan use the English language. 3.) Announcing in the local daily Ausaf newspaper on October 12: Bin Laden's al-Qaeda group is offering a reward of $50,000 for the capture of any American soldier landed in Afghanistan. Questions remain regarding the extent and how appropriate it can be to send any personnel into Afghanistan and what specific missions may result in meaningful successes with minimal casualties. |

Retaliation Must Finalize The War & One measure of our civilization's civility is that its retaliation is actually self-defense of the future. The civilized world's retaliatory self-defensive actions will be precise and aimed accurately at the real perpetrators. There will be no rush to quickly lob a hand-full of rockets at the first plausible target. Instead, civilization will identify the perpetrators, track them down, and impose justice upon them. It is safer to understand our enemy before he pulls and aims his gun at us than to be caught looking down the barrel of his already drawn gun. This evil enemy has drawn and fired his guns at civilization for years. It is time for civilization to defend itself. To fail to defend civilization is not rational and it is itself uncivilized. |
