Most wars of the 20th century cost more lives per day
and per mile of progress than the Iraqi War has. Slanted and
selective media reporting controls public perceptions by using
negative reporting and emphasizing casualties. |
|
US military volunteers know -- and
truly appreciate -- all that they are fighting for. Terrified media
pundits and some everyday people may fail to know and can only call for
retreat. There is nowhere to hide. |
|
Wise Americans must actively defend the defensive
nature of the war in Iraq. Too many people are simply not
wise enough, and not well enough educated to see the global picture.
They fail to understand the strategy (long term) and tactical (near
term) aspects involved in fighting to win the war against terrorism.
They fail to see that the overthrow of Saddam
Hussein was a logical step serving that objective. Americans need
leadership to identify the
many successes in the building of a democratic Iraq after
decades of warlords, fiefdoms, and the despotic dictator Saddam
Hussein. |
|
The
United States is envied and many people wish they might live a
lifestyle as good as most Americans. For that reason alone, the US
will likely be attacked economically, culturally, and by
quasi-militaristic, fanatic terrorists. An attack will not signify
that we are losing the war against terrorism. It verifies our place
in the world. Inadequate people must put on a show against the best
in order to demonstrate their potency. Americans must see that the
best the fanatics are capable of is suicide and temporarily impeding our progress. |
|
Many
experienced historians and military analysts have labeled today's global, long-term war World War III. The
American people must comprehend and understand this fact in order to sustain US efforts in
the war against terrorism to a final win for civilization. |
|
The US and civilization will lose
the fight against terrorism if we identify a strategy and a timeframe for quitting a front in the war. If the US identifies a timeframe for leaving
Iraq, our sworn enemy -- known to have patience -- will understand
that its win is in sight and count the days. |
|
No civilized person enjoys war. We
do not want to fight a war in Iraq or anywhere. But people who
understand conflict and fanatical behavior see that to cut and run
by a given date simply specifies a date when our enemy can chalk up
a win and attack us
on a new front. |
