Iraqi War studies continue to
flow from academic, military, political, educated
and less-educated sources. A recent study identified select factors
and spun each into a detrimental, no-win, unproductive cost mode. |
|
Many of these
studies are
misleading & incomplete. Many of these studies are designed to
spin facts and relationships in order to direct the public toward
specific conclusions. They often demoralize the troops and forces
defending civilization against fanatics with nothing to lose. |
|
These studies from academia,
media outlets, and special interest groups are funded by a range of
private sources and get published in various magazines, newspapers,
and Internet sites. Their authors may be well known or Hollywood
types, academics, or ex-government officials, or unknowns with
credentials or not. Readers must be critical and put all writing --
including this story -- in perspective. |
|
In many cases it is not
productive or edifying to examine the sources, content, or
conclusions of the myriad of words bombarding us daily. |
|
Some authors and contributors may
have been winners of the once-venerable Nobel Prize or have other
superficially impressive credentials. It is often instructional to
consider and understand the dilution of membership in these old-line
groups that are today considerably less elite and more political.
One-time erudite and academically top-notch organizations have
become politically oriented and exist simply to promote a political
agenda. |

War is a part
-- a natural part -- of humanity at our stage of evolution. The fact
that some people reading this will become inflamed and click it away
in anger verifies the electrifying nature of responses in today's
culture. War remains the resolution tool of choice in many cases.
Only our evolution will end the use of war. |
|
War causes and
forces scientific, medical and manufacturing research, product development, manufacturing,
construction, homeland security, and the distribution of goods and services. Money is
expended -- in large amounts -- as salaries are paid to American workers, both military
and civilian, to perform these jobs at home & abroad. Hardship
forces progress. |
|
If this war
and the next wars are won by civilization, life will resume in peace
having had freedoms secured... again...
for a while. |
